Platform Engineer – DevOps – Azure & Container Technologies- F1/Motorsport – South East England

The tools and applications you help develop in this role could make or break lap time for one of the world’s leading Formua 1 teams.

A lap time that over 500 million people will see at the most-watched annual sporting series in the world.

 

What’s the role?

You’ll join a department united by a singular objective: to enhance the racing car’s performance by maximising downforce, minimising drag, and improving its overall speed. Everyone has a role to play – and an impact on the final result. Here, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

 

Your focus?

As a member of the Platform Team, you will play a crucial role in the development, deployment, and management of software infrastructure that supports our software developers and data scientists.

Your primary responsibility will be maintaining and enhancing the productivity of the development teams by implementing robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions within the aerodynamicists in continuously refining and advancing performance.

You’ll be working under the guidance of the Head of Technology, and collaborating with a highly skilled group, each with diverse ideas and perspectives to bring to the table. It’s a fantastically friendly and collaborative environment where you can really broaden your professional horizons.

What you can add?

You’ll call on a natural flair for problem-solving, strong attention to detail and accomplished communication skills. Naturally, in such a high-octane environment, you’ll need to be happy hitting deadlines and working at pace.

Beyond that, we’re looking for as many as possible of the following on your CV:

  • An academic background in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
  • Engineering, Physics, e.g) or experience working in the F1/Motorsport industry or an engineering-intensive sector such as Aerospace, Automotive, Aviation, or Defense.
  • Proven experience with Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes in a professional environment.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tool
