WHAT’S THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Data Governance Expert to join a dynamic team dedicated to transforming healthcare data into actionable insights. You will define, drive, and govern the biobanking data domain on a global scale. Your work will ensure data quality, compliance, and sustainability, supporting the advancement of precision medicine.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING?

Data Management and Governance: Oversee the integration of population-scale healthcare datasets and biobanks into a comprehensive data governance framework. Ensure alignment with FAIR principles and facilitate easy data consumption across the value chain.

Compliance and Operations: Translate biobank contracts into operational tasks to maintain compliance throughout the data lifecycle. Support negotiations with external data providers and advise senior management and legal teams.

Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with various stakeholders, providing guidance and acting as a decision-making authority. Drive operational governance and set quality and performance standards.

Project Oversight: Lead research proposals to data providers, ensure operational adherence to data governance principles, and maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Collaborate closely with Data Stewards to implement effective change management and communication processes.

Team Collaboration: Work within a multicultural team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists/Machine Learning Engineers, Data Stewards, and Project Managers to derive insights from genomics, omics, EHR, and deep phenotyping datasets. Apply machine learning and data science algorithms to support precision medicine initiatives.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Health Business, Health Sciences (e.g., Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology), or Computer Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in Business Transformation/Digitalization within the healthcare sector.
  • Hands-on expertise with healthcare data domains and standards (e.g., OMOP, FHIR, FAIR) and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, GxP, CCPA, IDMP).
  • Strong project and process management skills, including experience in change management and leading project teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and influence skills within a matrix and cross-functional organisation.
  • Ability to navigate a complex corporate environment and adapt to fast-paced changes.
