NOT ACTIVE – Software Engineer – Global Pharma Company Contract

Contract Type: W2 – 40 hours per week, starting December 2025 (initial 12-month contract, extensions likely).

Compensation: Hourly Rate + Benefits (Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k), Paid Sick Leave – state dependent).

Location: Hybrid (mainly remote with occasional onsite days in CT – approx. once a week for the first month, reducing to once every three weeks thereafter).

Company Overview:

Join one of the largest global pharmaceutical companies in the world, where innovation and cutting-edge research drive our mission to improve healthcare outcomes.

Project:

You will contribute to the BTD Portal (Biotherapeutics Discovery) platform, which currently hosts 15 internal scientific tools, with more being requested by the business. The role involves developing and onboarding new tools, as well as maintaining and enhancing existing ones.

Example tools:

  • A full-stack application used for scientific research workflows.
  • A tool that enhances the antibody research process, with a focus on improving data accessibility.
  • Scalable systems that support drug discovery processes and workflows.
  • An application that optimizes thermal shift assay analysis pipelines.

Description:

As a Software Engineer, you will work alongside a Lead Developer who specialises in backend development, with a focus on building and maintaining full-stack applications. You will ensure strong UX design and usability across applications, while also contributing to backend development and database integration.

This role is suited to someone eager to learn quickly, who demonstrates initiative, and can independently research and solve problems promptly.

Given the scale of the environment (50,000+ employees), building relationships with internal stakeholders and engaging with the wider Biotherapeutics Research department during occasional onsite visits will be key to your success.

Many stakeholders will be scientists and researchers – you will need to gather requirements, discuss new tools that might solve their problems, and ensure that developed tools and applications align with their research goals and efforts.
