NOT ACTIVE – Team Manager & Lead Data Scientist – USA (Remote)
Here’s a newly created role leading a small analytics team in a business that’s embracing the power of data science.
Already, it’s an appealing job. But it’s also a brilliant career move.
Why? Because this is a women-led business. And that’s better for your career, whatever your gender.
Research shows that women-led businesses not only have better financial performance but also much higher levels of employee engagement and satisfaction. Studies also indicate that gender diversity results in increased productivity, greater innovation, better decision-making, and higher employee retention.
That’s certainly reflected at this company – a unique pharma market research consultancy that provides data-driven insight to healthcare businesses, helping them develop new medicines and improved treatments.
This is genuinely one of the nicest teams we’ve recruited for. The care and attention they devote to mentoring and coaching, combined with their focus on collaboration makes for a much healthier workplace environment.
If you want to develop, this is the ideal setting for your leadership skills. The company is investing heavily in data science, with plans to significantly grow their team over the next few years. There’s so much scope here to shape the future.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, your brief is to organise, nurture and grow a new team. From day to day, you’ll set priorities and manage projects. In the longer term, you’ll help your reports to develop and hire new team members.
Broadly, the team’s role is to use statistical techniques to analyse data and interpret results, in turn delivering business recommendations for clients. They will be involved at all stages of the project lifecycle – from client proposals and initial design elements to designing advanced/multivariate models and evaluating new methodologies that can become part of the company’s offering.
This is work with a purpose. Your analysis will help senior decision-makers to predict the long-term performance and market share of promising new medicines. You’ll inform brand messaging, encouraging physicians to prescribe improved treatments to patients that most need them.
Ultimately, it’s a great opportunity to work on high-value business cases that will improve healthcare outcomes for millions of patients.
You’ve probably supervised people and projects before. You’ll need to show us that you have the capability and personality to be a supportive and nurturing leader – you’re someone who enjoys bringing out the best in everyone working around you. Teamwork is a big thing here.
We’re open-minded about your background – you don’t need pharma experience. You do need as many of the following as possible on your CV:
As long as you can get into the office – near Pennsylvania – for essential meetings, we’re flexible about where you get your best work done. This is a collaborative place to work – as part of your development, you’ll have the chance to travel internationally for conferences and internal meet-ups.
